Google Ads management Manchester: campaigns that earn their fee

The people searching for what you sell are on Google right now. We make sure you’re there, at a cost per lead that makes sense.

Google Ads puts you in front of people at the exact moment they search for what you sell. It is also the easiest place in marketing to waste money: broad match keywords bleeding into irrelevant searches, Performance Max spending wherever it fancies, conversion tracking counting page views as leads. Most accounts we audit are quietly wasting 20–40% of their budget on clicks that never had a chance of converting.

We run Google Ads the unglamorous way: tight keyword targeting built on real search-term data, negative keyword lists maintained weekly, ad copy tested rather than guessed, and conversion tracking that actually measures enquiries, the foundation everything else depends on. Search, Shopping and Performance Max each get used where they earn their place, not because Google’s recommendations tab suggested them.

And because a click is only half the job, we’ll be straight with you about where they land. A campaign pointed at a slow, generic homepage burns money; one pointed at a landing page built for the campaign can halve your cost per lead. It’s all part of the same machine, which is how our PPC team treats it.

What’s included

Account build or rebuild

Campaign structure, keywords and ads built around commercial intent, or an existing account put right.

Search & Shopping campaigns

Capturing demand that already exists, with feeds and match types kept under control.

Conversion tracking setup

Enquiries, calls and sales tracked properly: the part most accounts get wrong first.

Weekly optimisation

Search terms, negatives, bids and budgets worked every week, not glanced at monthly.

Ad copy & extension testing

Headlines and assets tested against each other so the ads improve instead of ossifying.

Plain-English reporting

Spend, cost per lead and return, monthly, to the pound. No 40-page dashboard exports.

What Google Ads management in Manchester should look like

The difference between a managed account and a monitored one is what happens on a Tuesday. Managed accounts get weekly search-term reviews, fresh negative keywords, bid changes backed by data and ad copy tested against a control. Monitored accounts get a glance and an invoice. We do the former, which is why the first thing we show new clients is the search-term report their last agency wouldn’t.

The other half of the fee is earned outside the ad account. Conversion tracking gets rebuilt until every enquiry traces back to a keyword, and clicks get sent to landing pages designed for the campaign rather than a homepage doing eight jobs badly. Same clicks, materially lower cost per lead.

Why Manchester businesses move their ad account to us

Usually because of a report they didn’t understand or a numbers gap nobody could explain. Our answer to both is structural: you own the account, the monthly report shows spend, leads and cost per lead against an agreed target, and our PPC management fee is never hidden inside your media budget.

And when Google Ads isn’t the right answer, we say so. Some markets are too expensive to rent and better owned through SEO; some budgets are better spent on remarketing first. We run all of it, so the recommendation follows your maths, not our margins.

Questions, answered honestly

Can you work alongside our in-house team or existing agency?

Yes. Plenty of clients keep content or social in-house and hand us the ad account, and some have another agency on SEO. We are happy to share tracking, explain what we are doing and why, and brief your team in plain English. Clear ownership of the account and the budget decisions is all we ask for.

What happens in the first month?

Week one is tracking and build: conversion measurement checked or rebuilt, campaigns structured, ads written. Then launch, deliberately conservative, while real search-term data comes in. By the end of the month you will have seen the first leads and a report on what they cost, along with what we are tightening next.

How long before Google Ads starts working?

Campaigns are typically live within one to two weeks. Leads can arrive the first week, but the account needs four to six weeks of data before optimisation is meaningful. Early numbers are noise, and we’d rather tell you that than take credit for a lucky fortnight.

My last agency ran my Google Ads badly. How would I know?

Ask for the search terms report: the actual searches your money was spent on. If they won’t show you, that’s your answer. We audit existing accounts before quoting, and we’ll show you exactly where spend was wasted, in plain English, whether or not you hire us.

Should I just use Performance Max like Google recommends?

Sometimes. Performance Max can work well for ecommerce with good feed data, but it hides where your money goes and will happily spend it on your own brand name. We use it where it earns its place, alongside search campaigns we can actually see into, not because Google’s sales team suggested it.
